Prof. Ephraim Egbutu Oluchukwu
Professor Ephraim Egbutu Oluchukwu was born in in Isiala-Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. He is a Professor of Educational Management. He holds PhD (1989) from University of Jos. He was appointed Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Jos. He joined the services of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), as a Senior Lecturer/Principal Programme Specialist on April, 1997. He rose through the rank and became a full professor in 2012.
Along his career path he served as Director, Department of Training and Research, NIEPA, Member, Governing Council of NIEPA, Managing Editor, International Journal of Educational Planning and Administration (IJEPA). He was World Bank/NIEPA consultant to Imo and Ebonyi States in the Capacity Assessment of Education Sector for Universal Basic Education. He was appointed a Visiting Professor to the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
He has won a number of awards for his professional activities which include St. Joseph’s College Merit Awards for his doggedness, dedication and outstanding performance in NIEPA programmes, award from Research and Development, NIEPA, in recognition of his selfless service and unflinching commitment to the Department, Education Dialogue Association, Award of Excellence in recognition of his contribution to the development of education in Nigeria. Award of Honour by his community in recognition of his outstanding Academic Achievement.
He retired from the services of NIEPA in April, 2018. He joined the services of Wesley University, Ondo, where he served as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Director of Academic Planning of the University at different times. He is currently the Dean, College of Education of the University. He is a member of the prestigious Nigerian Academy of Education.
